I am now doing research at Columbia University in New York City. The internet is a new instrument that allows people to connect around the world. I am very interested in how the internet was used by people to communicate during and after the disaster. Here are a few areas I am looking at: 1. The first question is directed to people outside the area of the earthquake. What information did you receive on the internet about the earthquake? What was the most valuable information you were able to receive? How did you respond to this information? 2. The second question is direct to people posting messages in Japan. What was the nature of the messages you sent (personal experience, public information)? Why did you send these messages on the internet? What kind of response did you receive from you messages? Did you find anything valuable through this experience? If there are people who keep copies of messages you send during and after the earthquake, I would be very grateful to receive them. Thank you very much for you assistance. Responses can be sent to me in care of Alex Wolfson at this account or .
